About SPLIT

Personnel: Charlie Crane (guitar & vocals), Ryan Gatenby (vocals & guitar), Ramsen Isaac (bass), Andy
Miles (drums)

Unimpressive, the debut album by Chicago's SPLIT, was recorded in a basement in Rogers Park over
the course of three Mondays between the hours of 7 and 9pm, so as not to annoy the neighbors.
SPLIT met in 2009 and bonded over a mutual love of bacon & beer, and swaggering, sweltering indie
rock.

SPLIT list among their influences such '80s legends as the Jesus and Mary Chain, Husker Du and Echo
& the Bunnymen, and '90s alt-rock heroes Superchunk, Sebadoh, Pavement, Stone Roses and
Swervedriver.

Unimpressive includes songs about infidelity, codependency, insecurity, defeatism, incredulity,
availability, transportation, texting, sex and drugs.

SPLIT has played many storied Chicago venues including Subterranean, Martyrs, and Bottom Lounge,
and are regulars on the stage of the Transistor shop in the Andersonville neighborhood. They signed
to Transistor's in-house record label, Transistor Sound, in September of 2009.

SPLIT thanks you, friends. They wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.
